The data gathered also assists in the measurement of progress and physical performance of your project. It is imperative that at the concept stage of the project that a suitable work breakdown structure (WBS)  is developed that will see the respective activities being monitored through all phases of studies, including being the backbone of the CAPEX estimates as you move through the development phases. Activities and the corresponding WBS code can be deleted, costs can be updated as required and additional WBS codes can be included as required to suit the works.
